Mrs Jasmin Arbabian-Vogel has been the new Swedish Honorary Consul for Lower Saxony since March 2016. The mother of two children is a regionally well-known and very well connected personality who is running four companies in the fields of nursing and health care.
The successful business woman appreciates the cosmopolitan attitude, the friendly population and the modern structure of society in Sweden.
Additionally, Mrs Arbabian-Vogel is a voluntary member of several local committees. She is the current chairwoman of the Association of German Women Entrepreneurs (VdU) in Lower Saxony, vice chairwoman of the Pro Hannover Region e.V., member of the board at the Gesundheitswirtschaft Hannover e.V., honorary judge at the administrative court and advising member of the social committee of Hanover. Mrs Arbabian-Vogel mentioned that she is
“planning to intensify the economic relations between Lower Saxony and Sweden, to develop the cultural exchange further and to stand up for promoting the modern, liberal and progressive character of Sweden in Lower Saxony” during her term.
Same as the embassy in Berlin, the Swedish Honorary Consul of Lower Saxony is part of the Swedish external management. It is one of twelve Swedish Honorary Consulates in Germany (Bremen, Düsseldorf, Erfurt, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Kiel, Leipzig, Lübeck, Munich, Rostock and Stuttgart).
Its premier role is the promotion and facilitation of economic relations between companies from Sweden and Lower Saxony. Additionally, cultural exchange and supporting the tourism industry are important matters for the Consulate.
