Right with the start of the school holidays in Lower-Saxony, the Zoo Hanover had invited to join in the Midsommar celebrations in cooperation with IKEA and the Swedish Consulate.

Starting in the afternoon, zoo visitors could paint little Dala horses or try to feel soft toys while being blindfolded. In addition, walk act Jättekul Pippali Dotterson was walking through the zoo, entertaining old and young visitors with her cheerful attitude.

Bread on a stick was baked over the fire and a Swedish choir showed how Midsommar is celebrated in Sweden. There were Swedish and German songs as well as many dances where visitors were welcome to join in! And they did! Afterwards, they could take home some holiday tips for Sweden in one of the many brochures the Swedish Consulate provided.
